⭐Adjustable Gain from 19–75dB – this mic preamp provides powerful gain to overcome the limited preamp boost found in many audio interfaces and mixers. It enhances the clarity and fullness of high-impedance dynamic microphones such as SM58, SM7B, MV7 and brings out details. For condenser mics, use in a quiet studio or pair with our RO-05 Noise Eliminator to reduce ambient noise.

⭐This mic preamp converts mic-level signals to line-level with balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS outputs, ideal for recording through USB audio interfaces and mixers. Not compatible with mobile live-streaming audio interface or speakers without line inputs. Wireless microphones are also unsupported, as their inherent noise would be amplified.

⭐Turn down the gain on your audio interface or mixer and rely solely on the RO-03 mic preamp. With up to 75dB of gain, it provides more than enough amplification while preventing unwanted noise from double boosting. It can fully replace the gain function of your interface or mixer.

⭐While the mic preamp delivers up to 75dB of clean gain, you should adjust the level based on your setup, mic distance, and recording environment. The goal is to boost your signal while keeping background noise low. Monitor the input in your DAW or watch the Clip light on your audio interface, and keep the level below -12dB for the best sound quality without distortion or clipping.

⭐This mic preamp also accepts guitar or other instrument signals through its 1/4" input and amplifies them to line level, allowing it to work as an adjustable-gain DI box. Note: when connecting to a guitar amp, be sure to use the Line input only. If the amp has no line input, it cannot be used, otherwise unwanted noise will occur. For connection, use an XLR to TS or TRS to TS cable from the preamp to your amp.

⭐If your recording space isn’t acoustically treated and you’re worried about background noise being amplified, pair the RO-03 mic preamp with our RO-05 Analog Noise Eliminator to achieve a clean, clear sound.

Customer Q&A

What microphones does the Rodywei RO03 work with?

The Rodywei RO03 works great with most dynamic and passive ribbon microphones, and it also supports condenser mics. You can even use it with instruments, though the performance isn’t as strong as the RO04 due to the input impedance design.

How do I use the Rodywei RO03?

Simply connect the RO03 between your microphone and your mixer or audio interface using XLR cables (or an XLR to TRS cable). Start with your gain turned down, then slowly turn it up until you find your ideal level.

Who is the Rodywei RO03 for?

Perfect for beginners on a budget who still want clean, professional-quality sound!

 it's a solid microphone amp

I bought this To amplify my Sennheiser Microphones which I use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking for speech recognition. It is very solidly built and provides clean amplification. I changed out the power supply for third-party power supplies that I use with all of my audio equipment to make sure that there's no noise.

The sound is very clear which is necessary for speech recognition. However, it does not provide any additional warmth like the ART preamps that I use for voice recording but it's about one third the price of those units. while the sound is a little dry, it doesn't sound unnatural on my zoom calls.

I can't comment on singing are instrumental application since I don't do that.

Great product - OUTSTANDING customer service!

My initial impression was that the unit was well made. It's heavy, in a sturdy metal enclosure, and the switches and ports seem to be of high quality. I am using it in conjunction with a Fostex cassette 4-track, and I had some technical hook-up questions. My email was answered within a few hours, and the customer service rep was incredibly helpful. We exchanged a few emails until an optimum solution was suggested. The preamp works perfectly, and in fact even makes a very low end mic work/sound great. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and would happily buy more products from this manufacturer.

Nice and quiet.

Nice and quiet. I had been using a Tascam recorder as a preamp, but had a little noise on a 50 ft. XLR run to a weatherproof box under my front deck, where I keep the dynamic mic. Decided to try this preamp, and the amplification factor is about the same, but the noise floor has dropped about 6 dB. I was pleased that the box is STEEL, because it allowed me to mount it under a shelf with magnets. de KØUNX, Jim in Jefferson County, Colorado.

So clean and tight feedback!! Love it!!!

I had to dig through a lot of junk in my shed to find my dusty ol' mic. It has a filter to keep popping and other noises you don't really want down to a minimum. I hooked up my amp to this preamplifier and voila! Gain was the first thing I noticed. No feedback, but significantly louder mic output. I love that, I usually have issues with feedback and organizing distances of my equipment to deter that. My voice came through cleaner than I had imagined. This preamp is compact as well, I could fit it in my pocket, but not with jeans on. Overall, this preamp is very nice and beneficial in many applications of use, I highly recommend getting one!

A simple device that does it's job well!

As my headline suggests, there is not a lot to be said about a device as simple as this. Is your microphone output too low? Simply plug this in, connect your microphone to it and connect this to whatever you are using and "pump up the volume!" :) Also if your mic needs "Phantom power" it can provide it. Nuff said!

Mic preamp. boost

This is really gain lots for the microphone.
It's really good build.
but if you want to connect to the mic out on the back, it's a 6.5mm jack.
if you have a 3.5mm jack, use the adapter.
Good service.
Thanks the delivery, and Rodyweil.
