Unlike single-chip circuit designs, the RO-04 is an improved version based on the 9098 preamp circuit. It features high-quality audio processing chips manufactured in the USA and an 11-step stepped attenuator, successfully controlling EIN noise at -120dB, resulting in a significant enhancement in sound quality.

2. Many buyers have reported that the RO-03 is inconvenient to carry for outdoor recording. Therefore, the RO-04 preamp features a unique power circuit design, utilizing a Type-C power port with a 5V 1A power supply. This allows it to be powered by any power bank or phone charger, making it easy to provide power for outdoor use.

3. Additionally, the high noise floor reported by buyers when using the RO-03 was due to its use of a continuous (infinite rotation) knob, which made precise control difficult. As a result, users often accidentally set the gain too high, leading to overload distortion. To address this, the RO-04 features an 11-step stepped knob and a Trim knob for precise gain control, allowing users to accurately set the gain and prevent audio interface overload.
